2nd Display (the "tablet app" and the "desktop app") is published by Low Voltage Ltd. The short version: we don't collect your data.
What 2nd Display does with your screen
The desktop app creates an extra virtual display, captures only that display, compresses it and sends it over the USB cable to the tablet app, which shows it. Touches on the tablet are sent back over the same cable. This data goes directly between your two devices. It is not sent over the internet, and it is not stored.
What we collect
Nothing. 2nd Display has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The tablet app makes no network requests at all. The desktop app makes one only when you click Check for Updates: it downloads a small file from lowvoltage.nz containing the latest version number. Nothing about you or your computer is sent with it; like any website, our server's standard logs see the IP address the request came from.
Permissions on your computer
- Screen Recording: used only to capture the extra display 2nd Display creates, so it can be shown on your tablet.
- Accessibility: used only to turn touches on the tablet into mouse clicks and drags on that display.
Downloads
The desktop app is downloaded from lowvoltage.nz or GitHub Releases, and the tablet app from the App Store. Those services have their own privacy policies and may log your download; we don't receive that information from them beyond what they show every publisher.
Children
2nd Display collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
